Washington's racist war on immigrants is longstanding. It mocks notions of welcoming tired, poor, wretched masses yearning to breathe free. Poor and desperate people aren't welcome. People of color are scorned. Exploiting unwanted masses is policy. Helping them is verboten.

Gone are the days when the upper classes were terrified of the angry mob wanting to smash their skulls and confiscate their properties. Now their biggest enemy is the army of lazy bums, whose lifestyle of indolence and hedonism, financed by crippling taxes on the rich, is sucking the lifeblood out of the economy...In the eurozone, many believe that its fiscal crisis can be ultimately traced back to those lazy Mediterranean types...who had lived off hard-working Germans and Dutch...Unless those people start working hard, it is said, the eurozone's problems cannot be fixed.
Last week, the "Dismantling Racism" class from St. Catherine University in Minnesota was taken on a Black Panther History Tour in Oakland and Berkeley, led by Billy X Jennings from It's About Time BPP Alumni & Legacy...An important friend and ally of the International Coalition to Free the Angola 3, Billy X Jennings' work was previously spotlighted in an interview with Angola 3 News, entitled "We Called Ourselves the Children of Malcolm."

...[T]here is still much confusion about why Bill C-45 is so problematic. To help clarify the case against Bill C-45, this article first breaks down the Conservative Party's rationalization of Bill C-45 and then examines how the bill can be understood as a dangerous attack on democracy and a continuation of the Canadian state's support for colonial and capitalist expansion and exploitation.
Israel's likely coalition partners assure it. Spurious Iranian threats are hyped. What began years ago continues. Washington and Israel want puppet leaders replacing independent ones in power. At issue is unchallenged regional dominance.
It's well known that Israel's government reflects militarized occupation, colonialism and apartheid. It's done to enforce harshness. It continues because it's profitable. Doing so breaches international law.

Most Americans honestly believe that the Department of Defense is really about the defense of the United States, when, in fact, the entire national-security state apparatus...has absolutely nothing to do with defense...The entire military-intelligence apparatus is for the purpose of invading and occupying other countries, interfering in the affairs of other countries, supporting pro-U.S. foreign regimes, including brutal dictatorships, and intervening in disputes between other nations.

Beyond contemporary extremes in inequality for aboriginal peoples in Canada, increasingly labelled "Canadian apartheid", Idle No More actions sound the alarm on questions of colonial injustice that reach to the political depths of Canada's existence and national character...Central to the Idle No More movement is a call for all Canadians to respect treaty rights, highlighting the constant refusal to acknowledge treaty obligations by successive Canadian governments over the past century.

A full-scale invasion of Africa is under way. The United States is deploying troops in 35 African countries...The invasion has almost nothing to do with “Islamism”, and almost everything to do with the acquisition of resources, notably minerals, and an accelerating rivalry with China...As in the cold war, a division of labour requires that western journalism and popular culture provide the cover of a holy war against a “menacing arc” of Islamic extremism, no different from the bogus “red menace” of a worldwide communist conspiracy.

The US, NATO and the Turkish government claim that the missile batteries are purely defensive — aimed at protecting civilians in southern Turkey from Syrian missiles. In reality, the deployment of the missiles is a preparation for the imposition of a no-fly zone and a campaign of aerial bombardment to support anti-Assad militias — along the lines of the Libyan regime-change operation.
Israel regularly violates Lebanese air space. Doing so is longstanding. It's also illegal. Incursions sometimes happen multiple times daily.
Threats in the name of His Royal Highness, a car rammed into our house, and menacing phone-calls to our children – This all happened to my wife and I following a meeting we had back in 2005 with journalists from the Guardian at their office in Manchester, England.
Regional uprisings achieved nothing. Daily life reflects poverty, unemployment, and despotism. Tens of oppressed millions suffer.
Drone wars are prioritized. They're becoming Washington's weapon of choice. They're instruments of state terror. They operate round-the-clock.

The imperialist powers are escalating the war in Mali. Britain has pledged to deploy troops, and the US is planning a base for drone aircraft in the region, as French troops marched into the rebellious north of its former colony...The escalation of drone and commando warfare across West Africa highlights the sordid corporate and strategic interests driving the war in Mali, and the responsibility of the imperialist powers in creating the conditions that provoked the war in the first place.

A report by Human Rights Watch documents the way in which Italian border police are deporting groups of asylum seekers to Greece without any attempt to examine their grounds for asylum...In the second half of 2012, Human Rights Watch interviewed 29 refugees deported from Italy to Greece. All testified to human rights violations and abuses committed by the Italian and Greek security authorities.
From January 26, 2009 - January 25, 2013, he was Obama's Treasury Secretary. Bankers profited hugely. Ordinary people were scammed. Geithner's gone. His legacy speaks for itself. His background showed what to expect. He spent three years at Kissinger Associates.

Michael Moore sure can make up a lot of dialogue for scenes he thinks happened off screen, in Zero Dark Thirty...He freely invents quotes for President Obama, writing words no one else has ever quoted Obama as saying...Were you writing fiction, Mike, or were you basing your script “on first hand accounts of actual events.” (The claim of Bigelow and Mark Boal in Zero.) In any case, your made-up dialogue belongs on Saturday Night Live, not in a serious defense of Bigelow and Boal.
