Never forget. Never again. Hollow words. Other holocausts go unmentioned.

On day 14 of a non-violent protest held at the Burns Lake Band office, approximately 50 or more riot police, many with shotguns drawn, evicted three adults and one 12 year old child. 92 percent of the eligible voters on-reserve had signed a petition in support of the protest despite claims to the contrary by the INAC chief councilor, Albert Gerow.
It shouldn't surprise. It's already policy. Depositor theft is coming. Europe is banker occupied territory. So is America.
It doesn't surprise. When America goes to war or plans one, Times editors march in lockstep. They support imperial lawlessness.

I'd like to pause and remember the "Iron Lady," who crushed British coal miners, attacked the unions, mortally wounded the social wage, bolstered apartheid, invaded the Falkland Islands, inaugurated a Brave New World of corporate globalization, created the poll tax and declared a class war that has spanned most of my life.

Amid sharply rising tensions, Washington is not simply responding to North Korean threats, but is engaged in reckless provocations of its own that risk the outbreak of war...The Obama administration’s confrontational stance toward North Korea is part of a far broader strategic shift — the “pivot to Asia” — that is aimed at containing China militarily and undermining its economic and political influence throughout the region.
Peace process deception is policy. It's always been a charade. It is now. Israel wants it that way. So does Washington.
Throughout his tenure, Chavez was America's main hemispheric bete noire. He's gone. Chavismo lives. Washington's war on Venezuela continues.

Margaret Thatcher is dead. Her policies as prime minister ruined the lives of millions of people. Now her political heirs are trying to extend the damage she did in ways she only dreamed of...We now face a Tory-led government that aims to build on Thatcher's legacy and extend it. Cameron and Osborne want to weaken the welfare state more thoroughly than Thatcher's administrations could ever hope to.
We are settlers on this land, raised in cities, rootless, and alienated from the ecosystems we can’t help but be part of. But we want to unlearn what we have been taught by the dominant culture, and in the process, we want to re-learn joy, connection, and wonder, while embracing grief and loss in order to heal. We want to decolonize, and to do this, we need to build a new kind of relationship with the land. We want to take steps towards an anarchist ecology, towards a knowledge of the land that is anti-colonial and anti-authoritarian.

The tragic deaths of six children in a house fire in England have been seized on by the Conservative Party and the media for a vitriolic campaign against a “feral underclass”.
Wars define America. They reflect longstanding policy. They're permanent. They've been waged every year in the nation's history. They target enemies at home and abroad. When none exist, they're invented.

A death squad government may not be the Obama administration’s first choice for Honduras, but they prefer it to another left government that people might elect if they were able to organize in a free election. The current government belongs to Washington, as does the U.S. military base that the Pentagon would like to keep there indefinitely.

The Conservatives under Stephen Harper are running an effective dictatorship. They believe they are quite within their rights to muzzle Parliament, gag civil servants, use taxpayer money for blatant political self-promotion, stand accused of trying to subvert a federal election and hand over much of Canada's magnificent natural heritage to the multinational oil and gas lobby.
If job creation kept pace with typical expansions, another 4.2 million Americans would be working. Instead, hundreds of thousands drop out monthly. Hard times get harder. America's indeed on a fast track toward third world status.

Large sections of the European population are paying with their health, if not their lives, for the European Union (EU)-dictated austerity measures...Numerous reports from Greece and Spain describe the despair and misery of the people as a result of the crisis: children who collapse in school from hunger; parents driven by poverty and desperation to send their children to care homes; pensioners who rummage through garbage for food...“In Greece, unemployment today means death.”

Removing Anarchopanda’s head may make him less cute and cuddly, but it will not dissuade the people that love him from fighting for free education and social justice...Even more than recent mass arrests of harmless protestors and bystanders, the hasty amputation was a clumsy move on the part of the SPVM [Montreal police].
Iran's nuclear program is red herring cover for regime change. If it didn't exist, another pretext would be found. They're easy to invent.

There has been over 4 months of ongoing protest, hunger strikes, long distance marches by Indigenous youth, heated negotiations with First Nation leadership...and widespread calls for action from non-Indigenous people across Canada...Given these circumstances, what can be reasonably foreseen is...the increasingly real risk of outright confrontation. The only question is whether this isn’t in fact the Prime Minister’s intention.
