Conflict Resolution Circles
Submitted by Anonymous on Wed, 10/29/2008 - 16:40.This is a handout from the Rock Dove Collective that provides an outline for an alternative model of dealing with conflict -- no police, no state, no hierarchy, no jail. It's community-based and centers around bringing people who are affected by a conflict into a facilitated circle to talk about the issues and feelings that arise from the conflict. A good beginning.
Also included is a word document with an example script outline for facilitators, as well as an outline of what circles are and aren't intended to do.

Print it using double sided printing, with 66% scale reduction in “landscape/horizontal” format. This will yield a small brochure that can be folded.

This project was inspired by two other zines we found. The Disorientation Manual for Evergreen State College (Olympia, Washington) and An Alternative Welcome Week Guide for McMaster University (Hamilton, Ontario). We lifted heavily from both. So, thanks! We hope it'll inspire other similar projects!

How to Scan Zines and Make PDF Files

These instructions are for zines on 8.5 x 11” paper, printed on both sides in booklet form (with fold in middle). Look for computer recyclers, college campuses and public libraries for access to a scanner. Computer recyclers usually have tons of scanners that work fine.
