Pataphysical Vibrations Issue 1 - "We Shall Survive Without A Doubt"
Bittersweet in our first conception, revolutionary artist and cultural thinker Emory Douglas' poster "We Shall Survive Without A Doubt" just so happens to best represent the theme of Volume 1, Issue 1. Each article is in its own way a tale about the survival and continuity of life- let it be a society or individual.
As humans we tend to forget that there is always a calm after the storm. As we are faced with severity we often question our future and our past. We fear the unknown element of being forever changed. Always knowing that we can never return to what we once knew as comfortable or familiar.
At least until we are awoken to the sobering fact that life goes on. That the greatest stresses come from an anticipation of action and that action itself is often what makes life worth living in the first place. The cycle of growth = Life, Death, and Renewal.
For this issue five songs were hand selected from live performances at a community gathering of Northern California & Pacific Northwest Artists forever known as "The Backyard Seed-in" which took place in Seattle, WA on 11 July 2010--the day of a solar eclipse.
