* 1 Announcing the Victoria’s 4th Annual Anarchist Bookfair! *
*****************************************************************************
We are happy to announce the fourth year of the Victoria Anarchist Bookfair, located on the interlapping traditional unceded territories of
the Songhees & Lekwungen peoples in Victoria, British Columbia. Events include book and information tables, workshops, readings, films, presentations, and much more.
Saturday, September 12th (11am-6pm) & Sunday the 13th (11am-5pm) At the Victoria Cool Aid Society, Downtown Community Activity Centre 755 Pandora St, Victoria, Songhees Territory, B.C.
The Bookfair is for anarchists and non-anarchists, with participants from all over North America and beyond. We seek to introduce anarchism to the public, to further elaborate upon current and historical anarchist ideals and to foster dialogue between various anarchist tendencies. Participants from differing anarchist traditions, visions, and practices are welcome.
The Festival of Anarchy events will take place between September 4th to 13th at various locations in our area
** The D.I.Y. Fair is scheduled for September 11th **
We need participants! More information will be available as events are confirmed. Please explore our website and consider contributing to the Bookfair and Festival of Anarchy.

geared towards people who are curious about anarchist ideas or those who are already familiar with anarchism.

* 4. Callout, Festival of Anarchy Events *
**************************************************
In addition to the Bookfair, a "Festival of Anarchy" takes place during the preceding week, with diverse anarchist-themed events at different venues in Victoria. The only limit is your imagination. You can propose any type of event, including street art, posters, performance art, film-screenings, pranks, and social/political workshops. Past workshops included self-defense, dumpstering 101, various arts & crafts, stencil graffiti, body modifications, fixyerbike stuff, creating gender bending devices, and/or DIY sex toys.
Festival of Anarchy events are organized autonomously from the Bookfair. If you are interested in being part of the Festival, please provide a title, date, proposed venue and short description of your program. No time limits are necessary.
Please send Festival of Anarchy including D.I.Y. Fair proposals & tablers to festival@victoriaanarchistbookfair.ca
IMPORTANT: If you are proposing an event that will NOT take place during the D.I.Y. fair on Friday, September 11th, you are responsible for making arrangements for a venue.
D.I.Y Fair - daytime, Friday, September 11th.
If you can make it, it's D.I.Y., and if you can teach others to make it or do it, that's what we're looking for! If you can make it, it's D.I.Y., and if you can teach others to make it or do it, that's what we're looking for! If you want to table at the DIY Fair, facilitate a workshop, or invent something new, please drop us a line. It would be very helpful, as well, if you can also provide us with a little info about yourself, and what you'll be doing at the Fair, including an approximate time-frame
PLEASE NOTE: To ensure your Festival of Anarchy event will be included in the Bookfair program-zine and the Festival of Anarchy Poster, submit your proposal by August 1, 2009. The DIY Fair operates autonomously and will continue to take proposals after this date.
